Results & Performance

My congratulations to this year's Year 13 students on their outstanding A Level results which were published earlier today.  This year a record 36% of all grades were awarded at A*- A, with 91% of all grades awarded at A*-C. This year 23 students achieved all A*- A grades in their examinations, with particular congratulations going to Finlay Brunsdon, Beatrice Norwood, Daniel Sanchez-Mosqueda and Ezra Starkey, each of whom achieved A* grades in all of their A Level exams. However, very well done to all our former year 13 students on their results, which are the outcome of the hard work and dedication to their studies by each and every student, supported by our outstanding teachers, professional support staff, and by each student's family at home. 

The School is also delighted with another set of outstanding post-18 destinations, including university, further study, working and travel abroad, degree apprenticeships with local and national companies and employment.  We offer all our leavers, whatever their destinations, every best wishes for their futures, and ask that they keep in touch with the school through the school's Linkedin page and through the Old Cryptian network as well.

Staff, students and their families were delighted with an outstanding set of GCSE results which were published earlier today. 

23 students received the top 9-7 grades in all of their GCSE subjects.  Particular congratulations go to Ashley Umege, Nirvaan Jain, William Welsh, Sia Dhiman, Harvey Hanies, Rishi Iyer, Alice Bartlett and Ameenah Vohra who achieved all grades 9-8 in their exams.  However, my congratulations to all of our students on their own individual successes at GCSE.

Students at the school worked extremely hard over their two years of GCSE studies, supported by their outstanding subject teachers and other professional support staff.  My thanks must go to my colleagues for all their hard work in helping support our students to achieve so highly.  We now look forward to supporting these and other students to make even more progress in both their academic studies and in their own personal development in our outstanding sixth form.

Update October 2025

We are delighted to have received a platinum award for being placed in the top 10% of schools and colleges nationally for value-added progress by Alps (an online analysis platform) for our 2025 GCSE exam results. 
This is an outstanding accomplishment, and a well-deserved reflection on the hard work of our students and our dedicated teaching staff.

I am both proud and delighted with just how well our year 13 A level students performed in their summer examinations; I am sure both they and their families will be so also. 34% of all grades were awarded at A*- A, with 85% at A*-C.  These results are the outcome of the hard work and dedication to their studies by each and every student, supported by our outstanding teachers, professional support staff, and by each student's family at home.  Some 24 students obtained all A*- A grades in their examinations, with the School's former Head Boy Sam Powell and Head Girl Genevieve Chukwuonye achieving 7 A* grades between them. Particular congratulations go to Daniel Forrest, Christopher Gaulton, Finlay Gibbons, Mroan Haggar, Theo Parker, Sam Powell and Max Thompson, each of whom achieved A* grades in all of their A Level exams. 

The School is also delighted with another set of outstanding post -18 destinations, including university, further study, working and travel abroad, degree apprenticeships with local and national companies and employment.  We offer all our leavers, whatever their destinations,  the very best wishes for their futures, and ask that they keep in touch with their future achievements.

These outstanding A Level results send out a very strong signal to those students in Year 11 who are coming to The Crypt to study for their A Levels: you too can achieve highly within our outstanding sixth form.

I was delighted to celebrate a very strong set of GCSE results with our Year 11 students, their families and teachers earlier today. Students excelled across the subject range, with over 19% of grades awarded at grade 9, 44% at grades 9 and 8, 66% at grades 9-7 and 87% at grades 9-6; these results are better than those achieved in 2023 and in 2019. 

These results are a reflection of each student’s hard work and commitment to their studies; I know that every student would like to thank their teachers and other school staff for the care, support and guidance given to them over their GCSE studies and which helped enable their success.  

I am pleased that so many of our own year 11 students, together with many others from schools and colleges in the local area, are now set to join our outstanding sixth form; we now look forward to supporting them all across their sixth form studies. I know they will all flourish in our welcoming, inclusive and aspirational post-16 environment.
