Outstanding Ofsted Report - March 2024
The Crypt School was delighted to have received an outstanding Ofsted report which arose out of a two day inspection which was held on the 12th and 13th of March 2024. The judgements were outstanding in all areas, and overall:
The quality of education: Outstanding
Behaviour and attitudes:Outstanding
Personal development: Outstanding
Leadership and management: Outstanding
Sixth-form provision: Outstanding The report noted that "Pupils receive an exceptional quality of education and benefit from a rich offer to develop their talents and interests. They consistently live up to the school’s high expectations for their academic achievement and broader development. The school motto is, ‘flourish Cryptians,’ and pupils do."

Sixth-form provision: Outstanding
The outstanding judgement reflects the hard work of everyone connected to the work and life of the school: staff, Governors, students and their families at home.
The report highlighted much that makes The Crypt such an exceptional school. In the academic sphere of school life, the report noted that "Pupils gain an exceptional depth of understanding in all the subjects they study." In terms of pastoral care and student personal development, the report commented that "Pupils receive high-quality pastoral care (and) the school’s personal development curriculum is exceptionally well conceived and organised." What was particularly highlighted was that "Pupils behave impeccably (and) Disadvantaged pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), achieve highly."
It was wonderful to share the School's exceptional educational offer with the Ofsted team in March; we now look forward to further strengthening what we offer to all our students both now and in the future.
