Year 10 student, Eden Saunders, was one of only 12 talented musicians selected from the Gloucestershire Youth Orchestra to perform alongside the interntionally acclaimed European Union Chamber Orchestra in Stroud on 31st January.
Eden, aged 14, plays violin in the orchestra and was praised for his contained, concentrated conduct and maturity by GYO Musical Director, Glyn Oxley.
The European Union Chamber Orchestra was formed in 1981 and has played in 73 countries around the world. They frequently works with and coaches youth orchestras. This evening, the concert featured BBC Young Musician of the Year, pianist Martin James Bartlett and performed Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Oboes; Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.12 in A K.414; Two Wings and a Prayer by Jane Wells; and Haydn’s Symphony No.55, "Schoolmaster".
