2014 GCSE results

The newspapers may well have been full of the talk of “volatility” about the 2014 GCSE results, but at The Crypt it was a familiar story of success; as the school recorded its best set of GCSE results ever.  A record number of students achieved 8 or more A* and A grade passes, over 38% of the entire cohort, with 53% achieving 5 or more A* and A grade passes.  98% of students achieved the benchmark statistic of 5 A*-C including English and Maths.

The top performing students were Ben Attwood with 12 A* and 1 A and William Price with 11A* and 3 A grades.  Alistair Waites, James Clements, Donny Wong, Michael Hall, Christopher Hartshorn, David Crowe, Harry McClaren, and Joseph Carr all achieved 9A* grades.

The Headmaster, Jonathan Standen was delighted with the results, commenting: “These are the best results the school has ever achieved.  They are a testament to the skill, passion and sheer hard work of staff at the school, allied to the exceptional efforts of our students.”
