Earlier this month, our Music department was awarded a silver certificate from the ISM (Incorporated Society of Musicians) in recognition of the school’s achievements at GCSE.
The ISM compared the number of students achieving A*-C for GCSE Music with the size of the whole school’s Key Stage 4 cohort and calculated that over 15% of our GCSE students achieved A*-C in GCSE Music.
Only 145 other secondary schools in the country (out of 4,961) matched this achievement, putting The Crypt School in the top 233 schools in England so we are very proud to receive this certificate.
The ISM is the professional body and a subject association for UK musicians, whether they be classroom teachers, heads of department, performers or composers. For more information about the ISM and the ISM Trust (the charitable arm of the society), please visit their website.
