Languages Day 2016

Languages Day 2016

Languages day was a huge success this year!

There were many different activities taking place for the students and all staff participated by wearing stickers denoting the languages they spoke or had studied Year 8 pupils had an 1 hour Italian lesson and the Year 7s watched a fantastic theatre performance in French called ‘Parlez-vous Français?’ by Onetti Productions - they were very entertained by poor Ben and his teacher Miss Blanc!

The school canteen joined in the celebrations by providing a full Italian meal which many pupils enjoyed before attending the ‘Learn a language in 5 minutes’ session. Here, native speaking students taught their language to others in a speed-dating style activity. Some of the languages on offer were: Urdu, Polish Swedish, Bulgarian, Punjabi, Arabic, Greek – and even British sign language.
