Most of our Sixth Form students go on to higher education, whilst others start exciting apprenticeships or enter the world of employment.
We are able to give advice on course choice, the UCAS application process, application tests, gap years and student finance, as well as expert advice and guidance on Oxbridge entry, employment and apprenticeships.
From the start of Year 12, we encourage you to research courses and check the entry profiles on the UCAS website to ensure you have the correct entry requirements in terms of grades, points, entry tests and work experience. We provide you with mock interview opportunities in Year 13 and help prepare you for university entry tests.
The school is proud of its many academic successes where the majority of our sixth form students go on to study at university, with many securing places at their first choice university. Notable achievements this year, which has been the most competitive ever, include the following:
70% of those that applied to university secured their first choice place,
75% of our students offered a place at either Oxford or Cambridge achieved their required grades and will take up their places this autumn.
We are equally proud of those who successfully apply for employment or apprenticeships and offer support and guidance to them. Recently, the School has developed excellent relationships and links with local and national engineering companies Messier-Dowty, GE and Renishaw, and a number of Year 13 leavers have started their engineering apprenticeships with these groups.
