Trips and Visits

Students enjoy a rich and varied range of travel opportunities, which both extend their learning, through the exploration of new ideas and cultures, and stretch their personal boundaries through outdoor challenge and adventure.

Year 7 begin their time at the School with a 3 day residential to Abernant Lake, which is part of our extensive induction programme for the new cohort. Year 8 also now have the opportunity to take part in a residential with recent trips for Year 9 including a Water Sports trip to Cornwall and trip to Club Correze in the South of France.  

The Modern Foreign Languages Department organise trips to France (2023 - Normandy) and the Cologne (Year 9) and a Christmas Market trip to Birmingham. Year 12 Geography students enjoy an annual residential visit to Skern Lodge Field Study Centre in North Devon. Many departments host a variety of trips including an Art trip to the Natural History Museum in Oxford.

The PE department organises a full range of fixtures both locally and further afield, as well as overseas sports tours which have included to South Africa and Barbados. In recent years, we have organised a Netball PGL trip in Devon across Y7-10. The School organises an annual ski trip for all year groups, alternating between Europe and north America.

In addition, there are numerous day trips to the theatre, local events such as the Empower Cyber Girls event, to revision and examination conferences, to universities including Oxford with many students also participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
