Our popular Sixth Form attracts students from across Gloucestershire.
Many students join the school in Year 12 from other local schools and colleges and they find a welcoming and supportive environment. Students new to the school quickly establish themselves making friends with our existing students who joined Year 12 from Year 11.
Admission to Year 12 is based solely on GCSE attainment or equivalent. To gain a place in Year 12, students must gain at least 7 A*-C grades (11 points) in a broad range of subjects, including English and Maths and which should include at least four B grades. In all subjects, a minimum of a B grade at GCSE is required to study that subject at A-Level. Access to certain courses will require a higher minimum level of entry. Details of course entry requirements can be found on the prospectus page.
All applicants, whether internal or external, will be invited to come into school in March to discuss their applications with Mr Biggs, Director of Sixth Form. This opportunity offers all prospective sixth form students the chance to discuss their applications to ensure that they have made the correct choices at A-level for their university and career ambitions.
