The Crypt's sport and physical education programme gives pupils opportunities to
develop their talents and skills

PE & Sport

The school offers some of the best facilities across the county for sport. With a new refurbished sports hall and fitness suite, students are able to access a wide range of activities both within the curriculum and beyond the classroom. With access to a full athletics track and training area and over 30 acres of pitches and games areas sport is at the heart of The Crypt School.

A varied curriculum which is focused on participation and individual progress allows students of all abilities to access the activities on offer. In core PE lessons students will have the opportunity to develop personal and specific skills within activities such as badminton, basketball, health related fitness, outdoor adventurous activity and athletics. A core tradition of our school is the games afternoons in which students take part in rugby, football and cricket throughout the year alongside alternative activities such as aussie rules football, cross-country, ultimate frisbee and softball.

Next year, we are delighted to be welcoming our first co-educational cohort.  The PE department has been preparing for this exciting change and will be offering a wide range of sporting opportunities to our pupils.  Apart for improving our sporting facilities, we also look forward to welcoming into the team a Head of Girls PE who will be key to finalising the ambitious sporting provision for our 2018 cohort.
