On Saturday, 21st November 2015, Gloucester Choral Society performed Orff’s ‘Carmina Burana’, Bernstein’s ‘Chichester Psalms’ and the ‘Liebeslieder Waltzes’ by Brahms. Sixth form students Jess Good and Caitlin Farrell were lucky enough to sing in the chorus of this wonderful concert – alongside our Director of Music, Julian Whittaker.
Testament to the calibre of the music provision at The Crypt, was the solo performance by our singing teacher, Alexander Jones; a very challenging piece in the ‘Carmina Burana’.
Many Crypt students attended with their parents, taking advantage of the free tickets provided through our link with the Gloucester Choral Society so we are delighted to announce that there are more free tickets available to students, staff and families for Handel’s ‘Messiah’ on Saturday, 5th December at 7pm in Gloucester Cathedral; a truly life-affirming experience.
