Supporting MFL teaching in local primary schools

Supporting MFL teaching in local primary schools

This year, our MFL teacher and Training Manager, Mrs Bolton, has been on a mission to support language teaching in local primary schools.

Since September, Mrs Bolton has been working regularly with staff in St Pauls, Meadowside, Calton and Haresfield schools as a part of the ‘Teaching Schools’ programme. In addition, this work contributes to a project called ‘Stepping Up’, organised by the University of Gloucestershire. The project aims to support primary teachers deliver MFL in their classrooms. Other local schools recently attended an afternoon inset session where they were introduced to some new ways of introducing language teaching at primary level, with games and ideas that can be easily and effectively used in the classroom.

The work is ongoing, continuing into the next academic year and we plan to continue supporting local primary schools as part of the ‘Teaching Schools’ once the ‘Stepping Up’ project ends; testament to The Crypt School’s commitment to developing lasting, valuable partnerships between schools in order to raise standards.
