The Crypt School brass group made a very successful debut at the Bailey Lane End music festival on Saturday, 18th June, coming third in the open quartet section under the very able direction of sixth former, David Crowe.
In other events, Year 8 student Daniel Crowe came third in the 13-16 solo completion, and achieved first place in the inaugural open percussion section. Alexander and Lysander Waring came second in the 16-and-under duet.
To our knowledge, The Crypt School is the first school to be represented at this brass band centric event which is well loved – and fiercely competed! – in the Forest of Dean.

Many thanks to Selina Waring for sharing her photographs and videos, and for contributing this write-up of the event.
