The School has been successful in its bid for funding from the Education Funding Agency

On the very last day of term 4, the Headmaster Mr Nick Dyer, learned that the School has been successful in its bid for funding from the Education Funding Agency for the complete refurbishment of the Sports Hall and the construction, adjacent to the Sports Hall, of a three classroom teaching block.  The new classroom block, will house a new Sports Science classroom, two further classrooms, a male and female toilet block and give internal access to the refurbished Sports Hall.  The refurbishment of the Sports Hall will entail a complete new floor, new heating and lighting and acoustic panels to dampen noise levels.

The total value of the two projects is around £1m.

The building work will commence in the summer and we hope that it is completed before Christmas.  This is wonderful news for the School and its pupils and staff. The new classrooms will cope with an expanding pupil roll and the toilets will provide additional facilities for both boys and girls.  The funding was awarded following the submission of a very professional bid, which was written by School Bursar Jo Hitchings and Estates Manager Hazel Baldwin, working in partnership with architectural practice Quattro, located in the City docks area.
