About

The Crypt School was designated as a teaching school in March 2013.

Teaching schools are part of the government’s drive to give schools more freedom and to enable schools to take increasing responsibility for managing the education system. Teaching schools give outstanding schools a leading role in the training and professional development of teachers, support staff and head teachers, as well as contributing to the raising of standards through school-to-school support.

Aim

We aim to work collaboratively with partner schools in our alliance by actively providing support and training, helping to identify and develop key areas for improvement and in essence, we wish to establish a lasting partnership where everyone involved feels able to share ideas and give valuable input as well as receiving various benefits that come with being part of the partnership. We are very open in working with non-partner schools or schools who are in other alliances if they require a specific area of expertise that we can offer. 

The six main areas of development as defined by the government are;

•    CPD / Leadership Development
•    Succession Planning and Talent Management
•    School to School Support
•    Specialist Leaders of Education
•    Research and Development

Partnerships

Alliances may be cross phase and cross sector, work across local authorities and may include different types of organisations.
